Studio Cinema Night in Krakow
Starting from Saturday, April 15, an event attracting film enthusiasts from all over Poland will begin in Krakow's art house cinemas. The cinemas will invite audiences to specially prepared free film attractions and to participate in the Cinema City Game.
The event involves Kino pod Baranami, Kino Mikro, Paradox, Agrafka, Kijów, Kika, and the Nowa Huta Sfinks. Five of them offer a different thematic range of screenings. Thus, at Kino Kika we will see productions for which the music was composed by Krzysztof Komeda (best known for the music for the film Rosemary's Baby). Kino Kijów may attract activists and people interested in ecology, as it will present the ecological program #ECOwkinieKijów. Paradox will introduce audiences to the significance of film costumes, while Kino Mikro will delve into the portrayal of murderers on screen and coldly show us films about Krakow murderers. The list ends with Kino Sfinks, which plans to delight us with productions where Penelope Cruz plays a significant role.
In addition to the screenings, the events will be complemented by meetings with creators. The intimate Mikro will enrich its marathon offer about murderers with a meeting with Piotr Litka and Przemysław Semczuk, creators of the documentary series "Polish. Serial." Before the film See You Tomorrow… Kino Kika invites to a video lecture by Tomasz Kolankiewicz - artistic director of the Gdynia Polish Film Festival. After the video lecture, viewers are invited to a lecture before the film Innocent Sorcerers, concerning Krzysztof Komeda's work, presented by Magda Miśka-Jackowska, author of the film music podcast SCORE AND THE CITY. Kino Agrafka will enable us to meet Dorota Pomykała, who played the main role in the film Woman on the Roof, and at Paradox we will discuss film costumes with film scholar Diana Dąbrowska.
During the Art House Cinema Night, children and youth were also not forgotten. Kino Kijów, in the spirit of environmental care, offers ecology workshops for children and a screening of the film Hug Me. Honey Seekers! At Kika there will be a screening of the film Yuku and the Magic Flower and Kino Sfinks will conduct film animation workshops for children aged 8 to 12. Kino Pod Baranami, in turn, has an offer for youth 14+ and offers a night film marathon.
On April 15 from 10:00 AM to 2:30 PM, the Cinema City Game will take place. Participants will travel the paths of Krakow's art house cinemas, solve puzzles related to places where films were shot, and earn points.
Free tickets (max. 2 per person) for the events will be available at cinema box offices from April 12.
