Krakow Music Autumn

03.10.2023 - 31.12.2099

For the tenth time, the Krakow Autumn Music Festival is starting. The first concert will begin on October 15th. This year is not only an anniversary but also an opportunity to celebrate the anniversaries of some of the most important composers of our time: Krzysztof Penderecki, Wojciech Kilar, and Szymon Laks. This year's edition is an extraordinary combination of compositions and talents that will remind us why classical music is constantly inspiring.

The five planned concerts will be a musical journey through various eras and styles. The invitation to perform was accepted by: Piotr Lato, Paweł Cal, Wojciech Koprowski and Łukasz Syrnicki, Mauris Ensemble, Duo Sollini – Barbatano, Katarzyna Oleś-Blacha, and Mariola Cieniawa, and the final concert will be (for the first time) a concert with an orchestra – the Silesian Chamber Orchestra, with whom we will have the pleasure to perform as soloists, conducted by Antonin Rey from France. The festival will open with the Sextet by Krzysztof Penderecki, programmed alongside a piece created under the "Composer Commissions" program of the National Institute of Music and Dance – it will be the second performance of "The Last Piece" for clarinet, horn, string trio, piano, and tape by Paweł Mykietyn.
