Dragon Parade in Krakow

24.05.2023 - 31.12.2099

The only such celebration in Poland when the city is taken over by dragons. Small, large, colorful, funny, scary, walking, and flying. Already on the first weekend of June (3-4.06) Kraków will become the dragon's seat thanks to the Groteska Theatre, which is preparing the 22nd Great Dragon Parade.

“There have been so many slogans for the previous Parades that this time we decided to give absolute freedom to all Dragonologists. Let the 22nd GREAT DRAGON PARADE be recorded in the pages of the Great History of Dragons as a monumental event. Let the GREAT TAKEOFF be the starting point of the modern history of the dragon kingdom!” – say the organizers of the Great Dragon Parade.

The program includes the Dragon Family Picnic on the boulevards near the Dragon's Den, where entertainment will be provided by numerous games, fun, and contests in the partner tents throughout the weekend.

Then on Saturday at 22:00, in the bend of the Vistula under Wawel, the breathtaking Great Outdoor Spectacle will begin, featuring pyrotechnic effects, surprising lighting and laser effects, giant water curtains, and beautiful music. The biggest attraction will be huge flying dragons, animated on barges and boats by actors from the Groteska Theatre.  As in previous years, this year’s Spectacle will have a pro-ecological formula.

The traditional Great Dragon Parade will set off on Sunday 4.06 at 12:00. Over 30 dragons will walk along Grodzka Street to the Main Market Square. Some of them will compete on stage for the title of the Most Beautiful.
